On PBS NEwsHour, THey were talking about how they have come a step closer to an HIV vaccine.the guy although said that even though theyve come a step closer to a vaccine, the scientist might not see it in his lifetime. it was shocking for him to say that, because during the entire segment, i believed that the vaccine was to appear this century. this vaccine is very much needed, contary to what some people believe. i was having a discussion with some people a couple of days ago, and one brought up that a cancer cure is a little bit more important, because many people are affected. I thought about it, and discovered, that HIV/ AiD patients rarely know if they have the disease. Often, when they do know, they dont tell anyone. so people might not know if theyre best friend has the disease or not. Cancer is something that is a problem within the body, you cant catch cancer. Cancer isnt anything to be ashamed about one youre diagnosed with it. On the other hand, when someone has caught HIV/AIDS it comes with the most embarressing conclusion, even if its not the way it happened. You had unprotected sex. This might not be the case, but tell your friend that you have HIV, then they assume youve mustve been doing something wrong. So i disagree with the statement that cancer cure is more needed. i feel BOTH are EQUALLY needed, you just dont know if your neighbor has it or not. HIV/AIDs is one of those things that you might never know a person has. The cure for this disease though, is desperately needed. People all around the world are affected, and this would help healthcare so much, because it would lower the amount of cases. everyone afriad of gettin tested will get tested, because there will be accure. this will be one of the biggest vaccines in history.

On PBS News Hour, Obama was talking about health care reform at 2 am Oct 2 morning. I do not understand why new healthcare is so hard to pass. it seems as if the president doesn't have any power. does the government understand that people, kids, cant afford health care? people are dying from curable disease? its just taking so much time to help americans citizens. they are saying that the average family can not afford healthcare. People keep coming up with lies and saying " this will be a tax rise" ...to be a tax rise doesnt matter. People need this. THe more money you put into the government is the more you get out. i also believe the new healthcare plan concerning health insurance can not deny you insurance because of a previous event is great. we dont know when we're sick. We dont expect these things can happen, so why should somebody be punished for having a heart failure in the past. i also think that health care should be based on how you take care of yourself, if you smoke, how much you weigh etc. healthcare should give you 3 months to get into a healthy state, or they wont except you. This will cause a lot of Americans to get healthy, which then in turn reduces the amount of many diseases.

President Obama looked to lend a helping hand to senior citizens, by getting Congress to approve of a payment play that will help them with the increase of their Social Security benefits in the upcoming year. While it may not be a lot on paper, every little bit helps considering the limited source of income most senior citizens have. The total amount of money the government would have to dish out will reach roughly $13 billion dollars, and come out to $250 a person.

ON pbs NEWHOUR, They spoke about how nurses will not be forced to take the flu shot this year. This decision was not based on a persons free right, but on the fact that there arent many vaccines to be given out. Vaccines are to be given to the people who need it the most. People who need the vaccines the most are pregnant women and small children. I do see the problem with nurses not getting the flu shot. Nurses are the one's helping people with their problems, and they too can spread the disease. The hospitals are places where disease can spread the most and people need to protect themselves. On the other hand, this is a new vaccine. No one really knows the precautions that come with it, and the problems that need to be worked out. For example, when the new iPhone came out, many people went out and bought it. There were many problems discovered , and it had to be recalled. Sometimes, its not always the best to get the first batch. Also, people have the right to NOT get the flu shot. its there right, and there really7 does not have to be a reason why someone does not want it. America is all about free choice.

On PBS news hour, they were talking about the recall for infant H1N1 flu vaccine, aka Swine Flu. I am honestly afraid to take this flu vaccine, and scared of my brother taking it too. I've heard 1 too many stories of it not being worth the risk. Yes, the media is known to blow things out of proportion, but one story was enough for me to be afraid to get the virus. To me, I think swine flu was created somewhere to get our minds off the war and such things, but I will not get into that. In America, if its not one thing its another. ITs hard to pay attention to all the problems going on, and people are always complaining. Anyways I hope they get this flu vaccine right, for the sake of mankind.
